Rudder
Privacy Policy
Last updated May 28, 2026
Overview
Rudder helps people examine beliefs and patterns through conversational reflection, leading-question reminders, and personal insights—not by prescribing what to think or do.
This policy describes how Rudder collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, join the waitlist, or use the Rudder app.
Information we collect
Website and waitlist: when you request access, we collect the email address you provide and any optional context you choose to share, such as your role, interests, or preferred beta platform.
App usage: if you use Rudder, we collect account information, the content you submit in conversations, reminder preferences, check-in data, and basic device and app diagnostics needed to operate the service.
Technical data: we collect standard website analytics such as page views, referral source, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not sell this information.
How we use information
We use information to operate Rudder, respond to waitlist requests, improve product quality, send product updates you opt into, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Conversation content may be processed by AI systems to generate questions, reminders, and summaries. We design Rudder to use your context only to provide the service you request, not for unrelated advertising profiles.
AI processing
Rudder uses automated systems, including large language models, to interpret prompts, surface patterns, and generate conversational responses and reminders.
We do not use your private conversation content to train public foundation models unless we clearly disclose that practice and you opt in.
AI output can be imperfect. Rudder is a personal development tool, not a licensed therapist, clinician, or emergency service.
Sharing and subprocessors
We share information with service providers that help us host the website, store waitlist entries, deliver email, operate the app, monitor reliability, and process AI requests.
Current categories of providers may include cloud hosting, database/storage, email delivery, analytics, and model inference vendors.
We require subprocessors to protect data under contractual terms appropriate to the sensitivity of the information they handle.
Retention and deletion
We retain waitlist information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
App account data is retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterward so you can restore access or export information.
You may request deletion of your account and associated conversation content by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required for security, billing, or legal compliance.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time.
You can choose not to provide optional waitlist fields.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Children
Rudder is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Rudder evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
